Bomb explodes, mailboxes damaged in Brandy Oaks
A neighborhood in the Winterpock area had its quiet shattered recently by a series of acts of vandalism. The Chesterfield County Police Department said a bottle bomb exploded around 2:30 a.m. on May 3 in the 13500 block of Brandy Oaks Road in the Brandy Oaks subdivision off Beach Road. Police also said multiple mailboxes were reported damaged around the neighborhood. Anyone who has information about these incidents or any other crimes is asked to call Crime Solvers at 748-0660. In other crimes: Academy Drive – Emmanuel Restoration Church in the 10700 block reported on May 1 that unknown suspect(s) stole four of their building’s heating/air conditioning units. • Separately, police reported that a suspect admitted to breaking the front window of the church and vandalizing the inside, along with several other people, around 3 p.m. on May 6. Consumable items were taken and consumed by several of the suspects. Bannockbarn Drive – Suspects were reported taking office equipment and electronic devices from a unit in the Roxbury Square Apartments in the 7600 block to another, nearby apartment. Belfair Townhouses (Belker Court) – A motor scooter was reported stolen on May 1 from a unit in the 3800 block. Burnt Oak Drive – The license plates of a vehicle parked at the Ivywalk Apartments in the 4900 block were reported stolen on May 2. Castlewood Road – A resident of Treetop Condominiums in the 5200 block reported on April 30 that someone stole the license plates from her vehicle. Ettrick (Jackson Street) – A man said he was assaulted and robbed by multiple suspects in the 21400 block around 11:20 p.m. on May 5. Foxberry (Cropper Court) – A resident of the 2600 block reported seeing an unknown suspect trying to get inside her home through a rear kitchen window around 9:35 a.m. on May 1. The suspected did not get inside, and nothing was reported stolen. Genito Road – Woodfin Auto Parts in the 12900 block reported on April 30 that four storage containers were broken into and miscellaneous items were missing. Happy Hill Farms (Fielding Road) – A home in the 3000 block was broken into and ransacked on May 2. Jewelry, electronics, cash, consumables and unspecified items were reported stolen. Hull Street Road – A suspect approached a clerk at the Rite Aid in the 7200 block around 9 p.m. on May 7 and asked him to make change. When the cash register opened, the suspect grabbed cash from it and tried to run. The suspect was detained and taken into custody. Jefferson Davis Highway – A resident in the 16900 block said she saw the door knob of her unit being turned from the outside around 1:40 a.m. on May 4. No one got in, and nothing was stolen. • A resident of the Parkway Trailer Park in the 6700 block reported being assaulted by an unknown suspect around 4:55 a.m. on May 5. No signs of forced entry were found. • Star Auto Sales in the 10300 block reported on April 30 that a dark green GMC SUV was stolen from its lot. • A resident of the Chester Maisonettes in the 11300 block reported that her (unspecified) vehicle was stolen on May 2 with the key inside. • License plates were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at SunTrust Bank in the 12500 block on May 1. Laurel Branch (Laurel Road) – A motor scooter was reported stolen on May 1 from a home in the 20100 block. Meadowdale (Lunar Court) – A resident of the 3700 block reported hearing noises around 4 a.m. on May 2. Later in the morning, she found a bullet hole in the back wall of the kitchen. Meadowdale Boulevard – A man reported that he had agreed to meet a woman at the Meadowdale Shopping Center in the 4000 block around 11 p.m. on May 5 after he met her online. At that location, a male suspect, possibly the woman’s boyfriend, came up and stabbed the victim. The male suspect and woman drove away together. • A resident reported seeing unknown persons running from a vacant unit in the Regency Lake Apartments in the 3300 block around 9:30 a.m. on May 3. Nothing was reported damaged or stolen. Meadowville (HP Way) – The inspection sticker was stolen from a vehicle parked at a business in the 500 block, according to a May 1 report. Midlothian Turnpike – A woman reported that around 5 p.m. on May 2, she was getting out of another person’s vehicle at Chippenham Square in the 7400 block when that person grabbed her purse. The victim and the suspect allegedly argued, and the victim claims the suspect stole cash and miscellaneous items from her. Millside (Lansmill Drive) – A resident of the 17100 block reported finding someone known to the resident hiding in a closet around 6 p.m. on May 6. Oak Lake Boulevard – Plumbright Plumbing in the 1600 block reported on May 1 that the license plates were stolen from one of its work vans. Old Buckingham Apartments (Buckingham Station Drive) – Police have an unspecified number of suspects they believe broke into two locked vehicles in the 1300 block and stole firearms around 1:43 a.m. on May 1. Roxshire (Edgeview Lane) – An unknown suspect broke a window to get inside a home in the 2200 block around 4:30 a.m. on May 6. Once inside, the intruder assaulted a resident. Nothing was reported stolen. Trampling Farms (Rock Spring Court) – Unknown suspect(s) broke into a home in the 5200 block through a back window and stole cash, jewelry and electronics, according to a May 3 report. Walthall Park (Walthall Drive) – A resident of the 14800 block reported that he woke up around 12:35 a.m. on May 2 to find an unknown person inside his home. The intruder ran out, and the resident reported that electronic devices, consumables and other items were stolen. Willis Road – Police said a victim reported that around 3:30 a.m. on May 1, during a disagreement inside a room at the VIP Inn in the 2300 block, a suspect stole cash from the victim. Windy Creek (Windy Creek Drive) – A resident of the 4000 block was standing on his porch around 1:30 p.m. on May 4 when a suspect got out of a vehicle and held out a handgun. The resident and the suspect argued for a short time, and the suspect drove away. |
