Car crash at Wal-Mart saves Farmville rape victim

On March 6 a woman told police that a suspect known to her had raped and abducted her in Farmville. She said the suspect then drove the victim to Wal-Mart on Hull Street Road where the vehicle struck another car. The victim was able to jump out of the car and escape, screaming for help. The suspect then drove off in the victim's car. Officers were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody.

A witness in the 3200 block of Meadowdale observed the suspect knock on the victims' front door and then enter the residence on March 9. The suspect made two trips out of the residence to the suspect's vehicle. When one of the victims returned home, the front door frame was found broken, and the items had been stolen from the victims' bedrooms.

While working in her kitchen on McKesson Ct on March 9, the victim heard the front door rattling. Upon checking, she found the front door being pushed open. A metal catch on the inner door frame kept the door from completely opening. When the complainant pushed the door closed from the inside, she heard someone jump off of the porch and run off. The residence was previously broken into in January.

Responding to a suspicious person call from Valley Overlook Dr. just after midnight on March 9, officers observed someone enter an unlocked vehicle and rummage through it. Upon being apprehended, the suspect admitted to entering another unlocked vehicle and also taking change from it.

On March 8 the suspect walked up to the counter of the Exxon gas station on Route 10 and West Hundred Road displaying a small black pistol. After brandishing the weapon, he fired one shot into the closed circuit TV monitor at the top corner of the ceiling. "Give me all your money," he yelled, "Hurry up!" The clerk handed over the cash drawer, which contained bills as well as rolled and loose change. After taking the entire cash drawer, the suspect exited the parking lot and walked toward a vehicle parked behind a tree between the Exxon station and the Fairfield Inn.

The victim returned to his home on Square Hill Ct. on March 6 to find the front door standing open and broken. The victim called police and was on the phone with 911 communications when the suspect was observed exiting the residence through the front door. The suspect fled on foot towards Stella Rd. Several items were missing from the home.

On March 6 the suspect approached a victim in the 7500 block of Midlothian Turnpike, demanding a small amount of cash. When the victim refused, the suspect displayed what the victim thought to be a knife and repeated his demand. The victim again refused and ran off. The suspect also ran off.
