County schools plan back-to-school nights
     Chesterfield County Public Schools has scheduled back-to-school nights at each elementary, middle and high school in the county, giving parents a chance to meet their child's teacher and join the PTA.

School Board approves bid for new middle school
     The Chesterfield County School Board accepted a bid from Kenbridge Construction last week to construct a new middle school on Centerpointe Parkway, just west of St. Francis Medical Center off Charter Colony Parkway.

Riding in style
     Now every kid can arrive to school in style. Fifty-four new county school buses will take to the roads on the first day of school. With six-cylinder, Mercedes brand engines, the buses handle more like a car than a traditional school bus. The buses feature safer handrails, cameras, tinted windows, more storage room and larger, rounder mirrors.

Cosby High School opens to students
      During its first year, Cosby High School won't have a senior class. A Health Sciences Specialty Center will open at Cosby in fall 2007.
