Four Chesterfield men arrested for vandalism
Four men, ages 18-22, have been arrested for a series of vandalisms throughout Midlothian. Police initially responded to the 1100 block of Courthouse Road shortly before 9 p.m. on Sept. 22 after one victim was struck in the arm with BB pellets. The victim was standing on the balcony of his apartment on Gloryvine Drive at 8:05 p.m. when someone shot him in the arm with a BB gun. At least four other victims reported their vehicle windows had been shot out, and one homeowner discovered a shattered bay window. Officers spotted the suspects' vehicle in the Woodlake subdivision and took all four men into custody. Police arrested Gary W. Justice Jr., 22, of the 8400 block of Scottingham Court; Michael S. Andersen, 21, of the 5900 block of Acorn Ridge Court; Joseph A. Beran, 19, of the 400 block of Charlemagne Road; and Justin S. Dryden, 18, of the 13600 block of Timberlake Court. They are charged with malicious wounding, shooting a person from a moving vehicle, shooting into an occupied dwelling and vandalism. They were held in jail without bond until a hearing in Chesterfield County General District Court. In other police reports: Bailey Bridge Road. Chesterfield police arrested three teenage boys on Sept. 23 for setting fire to portable toilets at Crenshaw Elementary School. Centralia Road. Three armed suspects forced two employees of Spencer's Exxon in the 5100 block back inside at 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 25. They robbed the cash register and one of the clerks, and then fled on foot. Iron Bridge Road. The victim was jogging in the 11600 block at 6:10 a.m. on Sept. 23 when the suspect drove his vehicle into the parking lot of a nearby medical office building. Moments later, she heard the suspect behind her. They exchanged some words, and the suspect grabbed her, but she struggled and escaped, flagging down a passing motorist. The suspect ran to his dark blue, four-door vehicle and drove off. He is described as a muscular, black male, who is about six feet tall with dreadlocks pulled into a ponytail, wearing a black t-shirt and long, blue jean shorts. Hull Street Road. A 1987 Ford Thunderbird was stolen from a parking lot in the 9800 block after the victim left the keys in the unlocked vehicle. It was later recovered in Richmond after being involved in a hit and run. A witness confronted the suspect when he allegedly shoplifted from the Food Lion in the 11100 block. An employee was walking the suspect to the office when the suspect ran off. The employee and manager gave chase, but stopped when the suspect fired a shot at them. Jefferson Davis Highway. The suspect entered the Subway store in the 9300 block at 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 20 armed with a handgun and ordered the customers outside. He then demanded all the cash and change from the store employees before ordering them to the kitchen area. The suspect then left the store. Pewter Avenue. When the victim entered the bathroom of her residence in the 6300 block at 6:45 a.m. on Sept. 22, she noticed the suspect peering in her window. The suspect fled when she called police. Saladar Drive. Multiple shots were fired into an occupied residence in the 3900 block at 2 a.m. on Sept.19. No one was injured. Trollingwood Lane. The victim was across the street at a neighbor's home when she saw the suspect spray lighter fluid on her trailer and set the home on fire. Police arrested John T. Hogue, 46, of the 2600 block of Shields Road and the 200 block of Trollingwood Lane, charging him with an attempt to commit a non-capital offense. Willis Road. The suspect(s) forced their way into Gene's Cycle Service by kicking in a door and took a black BMW motorcycle out through a bay door. It was found damaged nearby. |
