CRIME WATCH On June 25, the suspect(s) broke a front glass window in the Trinity Assembly of God church on Courthouse Road to gain entry. To avoid motion detectors, the suspect(s) kicked holes in some walls, so they could move around the church without detection. The doors to two church offices were kicked open, but only one piece of office equipment was taken. Some other recent crimes include: Alcott Trace. The victim's former boyfriend kicked in the front door to her residence in the 7600 block at 5:50 p.m. on June 22 and assaulted her. He then forced her into his vehicle and drove around for awhile. When he saw police vehicles in the area, he fled, leaving her. Commonwealth Centre. At 6 p.m. on June 21 in the 5000 block, the victim and her sister were eating dinner at an outside table when the suspect walked up. He exposed himself and masturbated. When they did not react to him, he walked away. Galivan Court. At 8:40 p.m. on June 21, the victim was smoking outside his apartment building in the 7500 block when he was approached by five suspects, armed with various weapons. One of the suspects hit him when he tried to prevent them from taking his keys, money and cell phone. They fled on foot with his possessions. Handel Court. After warming up his 2000 Dodge Neon, the owner left the keys in the vehicle at 5:30 a.m. on June 21 and went inside his residence in the 5800 block. When he returned, the car had been stolen. It was recovered several hours later in Goochland County after being involved in an accident. Jefferson Davis Highway. The suspect and the victim went for a test drive in a 1988 Corvette on June 25. Upon returning to the 16000 block, the suspect suggested they get out and inspect the car, and then drove off when the victim got out of the car. Lake Forest Drive. A 2005 Honda was stolen in the early morning hours of June 23 from the victim's driveway in the 7800 block. At about the same time, eight other unlocked vehicles were entered, and money, cell phones and other items were stolen. Ruthers Road. At 3 p.m. on June 25, the victim was opening the back door to her residence when the suspect put her in a choke hold from behind. "You called the police on me last time," the suspect said to her. "This time you won't be so lucky." The victim's son then drove into the driveway, scaring the suspect away. Police later arrested 39-year-old Victor Wayne Studevant, of no permanent address, who is being held without bond. He is accused of previously robbing the victim and sexually assaulting her last November. |
