CRIME WATCH Chesterfield police are seeking vandals who defaced three homes under construction in the Stoney Glen South community in the 2700 block of Tooley Drive on August 2. The suspects sprayed graffiti on the three on the three houses and forced their way into two of the homes. Once inside, the suspect(s) broke windows and sprayed the inside of the homes. Small fires were also set inside of the homes. Down the street, a large piece of construction equipment was set on fire, causing considerable damage. Chesterfield police are seeking information about this vandalism. Citizens are urged to call Crimesolvers at 748-0660. In other police reports: Collindale Road. At 9 p.m. on August 2, the victim looked out a window in her home in the 5200 block, and she saw the suspect trying to open her rear door. When she turned off the porch light, the suspect fled. East Hundred Road. While the victim was driving in the 100 block at 7:20 p.m. on July 25, someone shot into her vehicle, possibly with a BB gun. No one was injured. Glen Oaks Drive. On August 2, the suspect(s) entered an unlocked minivan in the 10400 block, stealing money from the victim's purse and keys to a 1999 Infinity. The suspect(s) then used the keys to steal the car. Greenspring Road. The victims were inside late at night on July 31 when they heard a knock on the door. An armed suspect forced his way inside, demanding money. The male victim grabbed him and pushed the suspect outside the room as he fired one shot into the wall. The suspect fled down the hall and outside the building. Hawkbill Road. On July 29, the victim returned home to find the rear door of her residence in the 8900 block forced open. The suspect(s) stole some clothing and other items including the keys to her 1998 Acura. With those keys, they stole the car, which was later found wrecked in Richmond in the 2800 block of Hawthorne Avenue. Hedges Road. A 2000 Suzuki was stolen from a parking lot in the 6700 block, but was later recovered in Richmond on August 3. The keys had been left in the ignition of the unlocked vehicle. Hull Street Road. On August 1, the suspects broke a second story window and climbed into Calvary Baptist Church in the 10200 block. Once inside, they stole a stereo receiver and DVD player in a cart next to the altar. Jefferson Davis Highway. The Raceway gas station in the 5600 block was burglarized overnight on July 25. Entry appeared to be made through the damaged backdoors. The suspects also damaged the security system, cut the phone lines and moved the safe from its bolted position to another room before taking its contents. Jefferson Davis Highway. A 6'2" white male robbed the Rite Aid in the 12000 block of OxyContin shortly before 1 p.m. on July 28. Displaying a gun, the suspect approached the pharmacy counter, demanded OxyContin and threatened an employee. No one was hurt, and the suspect fled on foot. Jolly Lane. At 9 a.m. on August 3, the victim was driving in the 2700 block when she saw the suspect standing next to a building, dressed in a white t-shirt, ball cap and holding two large orange bags. He exposed himself to her. Midlothian Turnpike. At 11:20 p.m. on July 27, the suspect entered the convenience store at the Amoco station in the 8000 block and asked for change for a $100 bill. The clerk said she couldn't change it. He asked if she could if he bought something. As she opened the register, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the cash. She slammed the register shut and ran to a secure office where she called the police. The suspect then ran out of the store. Midlothian Turnpike. At 6:15 p.m. on August 6, the victim pulled up to her bank to make a night deposit for her employer when the suspect opened her passenger door and got in. He directed her to drive to Turner Road where he got out and took the store's deposit with him. Rivers Bend Golf Club. The suspect(s) pried their way into the Pro Shop on August 4 and forcibly removed the money from the safe. They ransacked the office and found money left in a drawer. They also took money from a safe in the grill area that may have been left unlocked. The wires to the alarm system were cut, and the surveillance cameras were tilted up so their activity couldn't be recorded. They drove a golf cart into the woods when they left. Snowbird Court. On August 5, the suspect(s) broke into a garage in the 6100 block through a previously damaged window and stole a blue 2002 Yamaha ATV. Whitepine Road. On August 2, the suspect(s) burned a port-a-john to the ground in Iron Bridge Park. Windingrun Lane. Shortly after midnight on July 27, three suspects armed with a handgun, knife and a bat burst into a residence in the 8600 block. They forced two victims to lie on the floor and stole items from them. Then the suspects went into a bedroom where another victim was sleeping. When they demanded cash, the victim said he had none, and was struck by one suspect. The suspects left with money, jewelry and other items. |
