Golf tournament to be held for former PSA member The Professional Singles Association will hold a benefit 18-hole golf tournament in memory of former member Rolf Dahl on Sun., Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at First Tee Chesterfield in Iron Bridge Park. The cost is $26, which includes golf, cart and practice balls. The Captain's Choice tournament is open to the public. To participate, please mail your name, phone number, handicap or estimated handicap, and check for $26 to Ed Shannon, 1412 Sycamore Mews Circle, Midlothian, VA 23113, no later than Sat., Sept. 9. Call 379-5221 for details. Awards will be given for the winning team, longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt at a dinner at Antonio's Ristorante following the tournament. Dinner is not included in the entry fee. Proceeds will be donated to Hospice of Virginia. Ruth Michaud is the new director of Radiation Oncology for the Thomas Johns Cancer Center at CJW Medical Center. Previously, she was manager of Radiation Oncology and Infusion at Chesapeake General Hospital. Sherman Master, M.D., medical director for Tucker Pavilion on the Chippenham campus of CJW Medical Center, received the Medical Professional Award for Physicians from the Caron Community Service Awards program. He was recognized for his efforts in treating recovering drug and alcohol addicts for their underlying mental health issues and connecting them with other recovering addicts in the community to help them achieve success. David W. Mathews, Daniel K. Smith and S. Joseph Ward have been reappointed to serve a one-year term on the GRTC Board of Directors. Bhavik Shah, Nick Newman, William Enoch, Gwenyth Gaba, Emily Collins, James Cogle and Ivan Schwartz have been appointed to one-year terms on the Youth Services Citizen Board. Virginia Asset Management opened its new offices at 130 Wylderose Drive last week. Previously, the company's 55 employees worked in an 11,400-square-foot building at the intersection of Huguenot Road and Forest Hill Avenue. The new location for the 20-year-old company is 26,000 square feet, and will allow the firm to add 20 additional employees. Janna Westbrook has opened JCW Health Connections Plus in the Victorian Square Shopping Center at 10913 Hull St. Rd. Her alternative health and herbal medicine business includes massage and a professional kinesiology practice. The new officers for the South Richmond Rotary are Dan Apple, (owner/operator of Apple Door Systems) as president; President Elect Megan O'Neill (executive director of Shady Grove YMCA); Secretary Ed Tillett (senior principal of E-Media Associates), Treasurer Billy Farrar (owner/ operator of Jord Construction) and Sergeantat Arms Andy Kerr (commercial loan officer for SunTrust Bank). Captain Jack F. Speed has retired after 28 years of service from the Chesterfield Emergency Medical Services Department, completing his career at the Bon Air Fire and EMS Station. |
