Let them learn English Dear Editor, In the Aug. 23 edition on page 2 is an article that the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce is offering Spanish classes for businesses so that they may speak with their customers or employees who have decided that the best place for them in the world was the United States. But then when they arrive, they expect this country to bend over backwards to adhere to their way of living in the "old country." Why not offer these courses to the people who we did not ask to join us and who want to live our way of life, so that they may learn English, therefore allowing them to speak with us? And to take this one step further, if they do not partake of this education offer, ask them to return to their original homes. It is not for us to learn their way of life. It is for them to learn the way of life of the country they chose to come to. I would welcome anybody that really wants to live among us to put forth the effort to make the transition.
