Fun and festivities at ChesterFest

Page Dowdy/Chesterfield Observer More than 9,000 people attended the Fifth Annual ChesterFest earlier this month in Chester Village Green. Threeyear old Kaya Heyward (above) enjoyed a pony ride while Thomas Dale High School seniors Lindsay Wood and Heather Barefoot (above right) strolled through the crowds. Sisters Phyllis Demro and Palma Waldrup (below), who are members of the Red Hat Society, also attended the community event. ChesterFest included musical entertainment, a pie eating contest and nearly 100 arts-and-crafts vendors. Proceeds from ChesterFest fund scholarships for local high school seniors.
