Nicole Cochran (front) and John Suits, both seventh graders at Clover Hill Middle School, joined students across the nation in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance during Pledge Across America on Sept. 18. Around 52 million students in the United States took part in the U.S. Department of Education event, which encourages patriotism, good citizenship and youth unification through the synchronized recitation of the pledge.
