Corrections & Amplifications

In a story on the Midlothian supervisor race in the Oct. 4 issue, the Chesterfield Observer incorrectly reported how Midlothian Planning Commissioner Dan Gecker voted in the Watkins Centre rezoning case. He voted for approving the rezoning. We regret the error.

According to county records, Gecker proposed "a meaningful definitive of main street and infrastructure to encourage regional employment center development with the initial phase of construction."

He also favored design changes that strengthened main street retailers over big box users, imposed more protection for the Upper Swift Creek watershed, and required land be dedicated for a light rail station and a West Salisbury Fire/Rescue station.
