Meadowbrook student arrested for bomb threat

A Meadowbrook High School student has been arrested for allegedly making a threat to blow up the school. After police and school officials questioned the student, it was determined there was "no valid threat." The student has been charged with threatening to bomb threatening to bomb or damage a building, which is a misdemeanor.

A teacher heard the threat at 11 a.m. on Oct. 2.

In other police reports:

Chippendale Court. The victim was warming up his vehicle at 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 10 when the suspect opened the driver's door, showed a handgun and demanded money or "he would kill him." The suspect took the wallet and drove off in his vehicle.

Coxendale Road. Two motorcycles-a 1999 Kawasaki Green Scheme and 2001 Kawasaki Orange Scheme-were stolen from an unlocked garage in the 2100 block. The suspect(s) cut the chain that secured them.

Hull Street Road. The victim was walking in the 20100 block at 2 a.m. on Oct. 8 when three suspects approached him and took money from his wallet. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

Jefferson Davis Highway. The suspect entered Manchester Cleaners in the 12600 block at 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 9 and asked for change. When the clerk told him she had none, the suspect pulled out a gun and took the store's money.

Mallard Creek Circle. A witness observed the suspect trying to enter vehicles in the parking lot in the 4000 block at 1 a. m. and called the police. A juvenile was arrested for tampering with vehicles and violating curfew.

McTyres Cove Road. Between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 5, someone tried unsuccessfully to kick in a rear window of a single-family residence in the 4000 block in Brandermill.

Oak Lake Court. The front wheels from a dump truck belonging to Excalibur Construction Company were removed sometime during the first weekend in October.

River Road. The victim walked to a nearby ATM at 3 a.m. on Oct. 3 and returned home to his residence in the 6100 block. The suspect kicked in the rear door, and brandishing a handgun, demanded the money. He told the victim he had seen him withdraw the money from the ATM and followed him home.

Statute Street. The victim returned to his residence in the 6500 block on Oct. 7 to find his front door damaged. It appeared someone had tried to pry it open. A pumpkin on the front porch had been taken to the street and smashed.

Twin Ridge Lane. At 9:35 p.m. on Oct. 7, the victim opened the door to her residence when the suspect knocked on it. The suspect pushed her over and ran to her bedroom, taking her purse and fleeing out the front door.

Willis Road. The suspect entered the Country Inn in the 2400 block at 1:40 a.m. on Oct. 6 and demanded money from the register. The suspect never displayed a weapon, but indicated that he had one. He took the money and fled on foot.
