IN THE SPOTLIGHT...

Family Fright Night, Sat., Oct. 28, 4-7 p.m., Bensley Community Building, 2900 Drewry's Bluff Rd. Bring the entire family out for an evening of music, carnival games, prizes, trick-or-treating, costume contest and more! Admission is free. Teen Halloween Dance (same location) will follow from 7:30- 9:30 p.m., for ages 10-15. Tickets are $5 per person. Space is limited, so register early. Hispanic Small Business Resource Fair, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., St. Augustine's Church, 4400 Beulah Rd. Includes an exhibit hall with government, private sector and nonprofit resource providers on hand to offer information on financing, marketing, business planning and workplace safety. Workshops will be offered on topics such as government financing programs, government procurement opportunities, procurement opportunities, how to start a business and business planning. Things that Go Bump in the Night, 6-8 p.m. (and Sat., Oct. 28, same time). Experience an evening of spellbinding accounts as storytellers present haunting tales in a historical setting at Henricus Historical Park. Bring a blanket and enjoy this evening of old-fashioned family fun. Light refreshments will be served. Cost: $6/adults, $4/seniors and children 12 and under. Free for Henricus members. Sat., Oct. 28

"Folk in the Grove" concert series, 8 p.m. (doors open at 7:15 p.m.), Congregation Or Ami, 9400 W. Huguenot Rd., featuring John Skelton, master of the Irish flute. Workshops in Irish flute and whistle (beginner, intermediate and advanced) will be held throughout the day. Historical Spirit Walk, 3-8 p.m., Castlewood, Magnolia Grange and on the Courthouse Green. Kids' games, pumpkin carving, reenactments and an "Evolution of Death" exhibit. Cost is $5 and includes all sites. For information, call 796-1479.

Halloween Costume Parade and Carnival, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The parade will begin at the corner of Glenmeadow and Walton Park roads. Participants will then proceed to the Walton Park Clubhouse for fun and frolic. Lunch, treats, crafts, games and activities are all included. The People of Pocahontas, noon-5 p.m., Henricus Historical Park. Explore the culture of Virginia's first residents and learn about the skills that enabled the Virginia Indians to survive. Learn how they flourished and how they shared their knowledge with the colonists. Cost: $6/adults, $5/seniors, $4/children 12 and under. Free for Henricus members. Tues., Nov. 7

Country/Contemporary Line Dancing course, Tuesday evenings, 7:30-9 p.m., through Dec. 12, Bensley Community Building, 2900 Drewry's Bluff Road.
