Hispanic walkers are attacked by man and woman

Police are seeking information about an attempted robbery that turned into a shooting in the 5700 block of Belmont Road at 8:55 p.m. on Oct. 20. A Hispanic couple was walking along Belmont Road when two African-American suspects - a male and a female - approached them. The female victim ran when the female suspect pulled a knife on them and demanded money. When the male victim attempted to flee the scene as well, he was shot by the male suspect with a small caliber handgun.

An hour later in the same area, another Hispanic victim spotted the same suspects and attempted to walk away from them, but the female suspect put a gun to his head. The victim took the gun away from her, but was shot in the hand during the struggle. Once they were no longer armed, the suspects fled the scene.

Chesterfield police have reported a number of African-American on Hispanic crimes.

Police believe these types of crimes may be occurring since Hispanics often carry money on them instead of depositing it in a bank. If you have any knowledge of this crime or any other, call Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
