Knife-wielding suspect sought

Chesterfield police are seeking a Hispanic male in his 30s after he attempted to abduct a woman at knife-point as she was walking with her nine-year-old child in Henricus Historical Park on Oct. 28. Police believe the suspect intended to sexually assault the woman, but both victims escaped unharmed.

The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. as the two walked from a wooded trail to their parked vehicle. The suspect grabbed the woman's arm, displayed a knife, dragged her toward a wooded area and forced her to the ground. Her child escaped, and the woman was able to call 911 on a cell phone. When the suspect realized the woman had called police, he fled.

The suspect is described as about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a medium build, a dark complexion, brown eyes, curly or wavy black hair and a mustache. Police have increased their presence in the park. In other police reports:

Beachwood Point Road. The suspect entered a residence in the 13800 block at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 26. He unplugged the DVD/VCR player and accidentally broke the glass shelf it was sitting on. The noise awakened the victim, causing the suspect to flee the residence without any items.

Broadwater Town Homes. Between Oct.20-24, someone entered an unlocked apartment in the 15000 block of Tinsberry Circle and vandalized the interior. There was also an unsuccessful attempt to break into a nearby apartment.

Burnt Oak Drive. The victim was warming up his vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 26 when another vehicle pulled up next to him. A passenger got out of the vehicle, demanded money and hit the victim in the head with a handgun. After receiving his wallet, the suspect threatened to kill the victim if he called the police.

Crestway Drive. The victim's estranged husband entered her trailer at 9:20 p.m. on Oct 29, carrying a baseball bat and threatening to harm her. She fled screaming, and the suspect left the area.

Druid Drive. A pizza delivery person arrived at a residence in the 2200 block at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 to find one suspect sitting on the steps, displaying a handgun. Two other masked suspects stepped from behind the house. The victim was ordered to the ground, and his pockets and vehicle were searched. The suspects took his money, pizza and other items before leaving.

Falling Creek Circle. A cab driver was dispatched to the 4500 block where he picked up the two suspects. Once inside the cab, one suspect put a gun to the driver's head and forced him to empty his pockets while the other suspect checked the glove box and visor. With money in hand, the suspects ran off.

Hull Street Road. The victim was walking along the road in the 6600 block at 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 26 when two suspects approached. One suspect lifted his shirt to show he was carrying a gun, and then demanded money. The victim refused, and an altercation ensued, but the victim was able to flee.

Lancashire Drive. On Oct. 26, the victim got off work, made a bank deposit and then drove to her residence in the 4500 block, arriving shortly before 3 a.m. She had noticed a vehicle following when she got to her subdivision. When she arrived home, one suspect jumped out of his vehicle and grabbed her car door. The suspect placed a handgun to her head and demanded money. When she screamed, the second suspect told the first to get back into the vehicle, and they drove off.

Marbrett Drive. The suspect stepped out from behind a building, displayed a handgun and demanded money as the two victims returned home. One victim complied, but the second victim said he didn't have any money. The suspect fired a shot into the air, and the second victim gave him his wallet. The suspect then ran off.

Midlothian Turnpike. At 5:35 p.m. on Oct. 24, the victims were in the ladies coat section of a store in the 10400 block when they saw the suspect exposing himself.

The suspect entered the BP station in the 8000 block at 8:51 p.m. on Oct. 28 and demanded money from the clerk. Being in a bullet-proof enclosure, the clerk refused and ducked down. The suspect repeated his demand, but when the clerk did not answer, the suspect left.

Pavilion Place. At 5 p.m. on Oct. 30, the victim was walking alongside the road in the 2800 block when a vehicle pulled up beside her. The suspect asked her if she wanted a ride, and she could see him masturbating. She ran away, and the suspect drove off.

Pharlap Court. The victim returned home in the 15700 block at 12:40 p.m. on Oct. 23, and heard the backdoor shut. He saw a suspect running through his neighbors' yards, and then discovered a second suspect standing next to the house holding a trash bag. He confronted the suspect, but when he tried to call 911, the suspect threw the cell phone to the ground and ran, leaving the trash bag with stolen items behind.

Talon Lane. A number of vehicles were broken into in the 8700 block on Oct. 26 with money and other items stolen.
