PTA Council hosts Internet safety program for parents

Parents who want to learn more about Internet safety are invited to a Nov. 13 meeting of the County Council of PTA/PTSAs. The program is free, open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room, located at 10001 Iron Bridge Road.

Sgt. Ruth Baker and Detective Rick Meadows of the Chesterfield County Police Department will deliver a PowerPoint presentation entitled, "Internet Awareness: What Your Child Knows." Basic Internet safety for

children and adults will be presented followed by a question and answer session. Due to the mature content of this program, children are not allowed to attend.

Baker and Meadows will also visit Matoaca Elementary on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. to deliver the same presentation in the school's multipurpose room. Community members unable to attend the Nov. 13 presentation are invited to attend the meeting at Matoaca Elementary.
