Woman confronts purse snatcher at service station
 

At 11 p.m. on Nov. 2, the victim was pumping gas at a service station in the 5600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway when a black male reached inside her vehicle, stole her purse and then walked to his vehicle.

The victim confronted the suspect, grabbing him by the shirt and demanding her purse. The suspect struck her in the face and got into his vehicle. While the driver's side door of the suspect's vehicle was still open, the victim once more tried to get her purse and grabbed the suspect's shirt again, but the suspect drove off quickly, breaking her grasp.

In other police reports:

Chesterfield Towne Center. At 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 1, the suspect went into Marks and Morgan Jewelers and asked to see some rings. As the clerk held them in her hand, the suspect grabbed them and ran out of the store.

Chinaberry Drive. Two suspects armed with guns entered the laundry room of the apartment complex at 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 5, and demanded money from the victim. He gave it to them, but one of the suspects struck him in the head with his gun as the suspects left.

Green Cedar Lane. Chesterfield police were able to recover the victim's 1992 Ford SUV on Nov. 1, because it had LoJack. The vehicle had been stolen from her driveway earlier that day after the keys had been left in the ignition.

Marbrett Drive. At almost 11 p.m. on Nov. 2, the victim was sitting in his vehicle in the 7500 block searching for his passport when the suspect opened the driver's door and put a gun to the victim's head. The victim didn't respond quickly, and the suspect cursed and fired the handgun into the air. The driver of the suspect's vehicle yelled to the suspect and honked his horn. After the suspect took the victim's money, the two suspects drove off in their vehicle.

Newby's Crossing Drive. Shortly before 10 p.m. on Nov. 3, the victim was unloading packages from his vehicle when another vehicle drove up. Several suspects approached him including one with a rifle. They told him to put down his packages, raise his hands, and one suspect took the victim's wallet. When another vehicle approached, they told the victim to put down his hands, and they soon drove off in their vehicle.

North Arch Village Court. The victim returned to her apartment in the 9200 block on Nov. 2 to find the front door open and obscenities scratched on it. The interior had been vandalized with entry through a first floor bedroom window that does not lock.

Walmsley Boulevard. The suspect walked up to the counter of the Market Place in the 6800 block on Nov. 6 to buy beer and put a cigar and a lighter from the counter in his pocket. The clerk confronted him and told him to leave the store. The suspect said he would be back with a gun. The suspect returned with friends at 8:39 p.m. and walked around the counter, shoved the clerk and took a pack of cigarettes. At the urging of his friends, the suspect left the store.

West Village Green Drive. The victims pulled up to the night deposit at the bank in the 5000 block and were reading the instructions when two masked suspects walked up. When one of the suspects, armed with a gun, knocked on the vehicle's window to get the driver's attention, the victims sped away.
