LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Bon Air improvements add beauty, functionality

Dear Editor,

As a frequent user of the stores and offices around Choctaw and Buford roads and Forest Hill Avenue, I have been watching all the sidewalks [and other] construction going on. It looks wonderful, and many people can soon walk or bike around these areas without needing a car.

I would like to know if street lights will be an addition to these improvements? Lights will help keep crime down...and also enhance the area. I am thinking along the lines of the quaint street lamps on the Nickel Bridge over the James River. Bon Air would look ever so nice! Also, how about some bike parking slots to encourage bikers?

Infrastructure is needed in northern Chesterfield

Dear Editor,

It seems like most of the Chesterfield government's focus is on the western and southern parts of the county while those of us who live in the "more mature" section of Chesterfield are being forgotten. If you look at where the new schools and road improvements are going, they're not where I travel.

Is extending the Powhite Parkway [Nov. 22] really necessary? Why do these young families move so far away and then expect the county to improve the roads so they can get to work on time? Or complain about so many trailers [being used] as classrooms?
