Lucy Corr announces Miller Center schedule

Springdale at Lucy Corr Village will host several programs as part of the Miller Center Forum this month.

The forum provides continuing education for the regional community through live web casts and C-SPAN broadcasts.

Live web casts will be presented in the community room at Lucy Corr Village. All broadcasts are open to the public. Seating is limited and can be reserved by calling Lucy Corr Village at 706-5712.

The following speakers are scheduled:

Fri., Dec. 8, 11 a.m. Dexter Filkins: Reporting from Baghdad

Dexter Filkins served as a war correspondent in the New York Times Baghdad bureau from March 2003 until August 2006. In 2002, he was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize for his Afghanistan coverage. Mon., Dec. 11, 11 a.m. John Harris: The Way to Win - Taking the White House in 2008

John Harris, political editor of the Washington Post, and Mark Halperin, political director of ABC News, have published an early analysis of the 2008 presidential election. Harris is also the author of "The Survivor: Bill Clinton in the White House."

Tues., Dec. 12, 11 a.m. Paul Charles Milazzo: Unlikely Environmentalists - Congress and Clean Water, 1945-1972

Paul Charles Milazzo, an assistant professor of history at Ohio University, will discuss how a much more diverse set of people and interests has shaped environmental politics than has generally been supposed.
