Chesterfield police arrest two teens with bottle bombs
Chesterfield police arrested two teens last week for making and exploding bottle bombs. The arrests were made at a residence in the 3400 block of Castlebury Drive just north of Thomas Dale High School.

Police say the teens admitted to experimenting with chemicals and making at least five bottle bombs. Two of the bottle bombs had exploded, and the three remaining ones were found in the rear yard of the residence.

Both teens were charged with the manufacture/ possession or use of an explosive material or device.

In other police reports:

Boulder Springs Drive. The two suspects used an outside hidden key to enter a residence in the 700 block on Dec. 6 around 10:30 p.m. They were attempting to steal a big screen television, but fled when they saw the elderly victim holding a phone, apparently calling the police.

Chester Road. Several items had been secured by steel cables and padlocks to wall studs inside an open construction site in the 10000 block on Dec 10. The following day, they were stolen by cutting the padlocks.

Cosmic Road. The suspect(s) broke into a vacant apartment in the 6400 block on Dec. 10 by breaking the rear sliding glass door and vandalized the interior.

Hull Street Road. A 2000 Ford Windstar van was left disabled in a parking lot in the 11300 block on Dec. 8. When the victim returned on Dec. 10, the van was missing.

Hunter Lane. Two juveniles were arrested by Chesterfield police after a pursuit that began in Powhatan County. The teens admitted to police that they stole the 2004 Ford pickup they were driving and had been breaking into vehicles in the area. One juvenile is charged with grand larceny while the second faces charges of hit and run, eluding police, reckless driving, attempt to commit a non-capital offense and grand larceny.

Iron Bridge Road. A store manager reported that he was robbed outside of a store in the 1100 block at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 by three armed suspects.

Pavilion Place. The rear tires and wheels of a 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer were stolen when the vehicle was left parked in the 2800 block during early December.

Research Road. The victim hung his car keys on a peg board on Dec. 11 while he worked out. When he returned, the keys were missing and so was his 2000 Infinity that had been parked outside.
