Seatbelt patrols rise

Chesterfield County Police is stepping up patrols to enforce seat belt and child safety seat laws in conjunction with the Click It or Ticket campaign.

Police remind motorists who plan to travel for the holidays to buckle up and ensure their passengers are also wearing a seat belt. Motorists who are stopped for other violations can be ticketed if they are not wearing a seat belt or if a passenger under age 16 is not wearing a seat belt or is not properly secured in a child safety seat.
