Chesterfield searches for Meadowville road funding
      Chesterfield's Economic Development Department is searching for what it believes is the missing link - funding for an interchange at I-295 for the 1,300-acre Meadowville Technology Park in eastern Chesterfield. A cloverleaf would cost about $28 million or $15 million for a diamond exchange.

Former Supervisor Barber sued for credit card debt
      The legal problems of former Midlothian Supervisor Ed Barber have apparently become financial problems. Chase Bank is suing Barber in Chesterfield County Circuit Court for $47,182 in credit card debt, asking for interest and court costs.

County schools to plan curriculum with parents, students
      The Chesterfield County School Board is inviting parents, teachers, students, business leaders and community members to discuss the strengths and challenges in preparing students for success in the 21st century during a forum on Aug. 14. The program will focus on what schools should continue to emphasize and what should be added.

22nd Annual VMFA Summer Interlude series starts Aug. 5 at Bon Air church
      Metro Richmond's 22nd Annual Summer Interlude concert series begins Sun., Aug. 5, at 3 p.m. with music by Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The series, featuring the Richmond Chamber Players and presented by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will be held at Bon Air Presbyterian Church, 9201 W. Huguenot Rd.

Commission and board more at odds
      Amendments to the Upper Swift Creek Plan applying road and school requirements by the Planning Commission last week will likely increase the friction with the Board of Supervisors. Though commissioners are appointed by individual board members, once appointed, they can't be replaced for four years. Their terms end this December.
