New Chesterfield senior advocate starts this month
      County seniors will soon hear a new voice on the end of the phone line when they call Chesterfield's senior advocate. Diane Peterson, the county's first senior advocate, steps down this month after three years in that position.

Free ice cream for seniors!
      The Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield will sponsor its annual ice cream social on Tues., Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Chester Baptist Church's "Great Hall," 4317 School St., Chester. All seniors are invited to come and enjoy an evening of fellowship and fun.

      Opera, line dancing, sudoku, Microsoft, digital photography, crafts, health, history - classes in all of these topics and more are being offered at the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) this fall. The LLI is a member-supported organization that encourages seniors ages 50 and older to remain active and engaged in learning.
