A big liability
$600 million is unfunded for county retiree health care benefits over the next 30 years
      The cost of health care benefits are increasing dramatically for retired county and school employees and will begin having a more serious impact on the county budget next year. "The unfunded liability over the next 30 years is in the neighborhood of $600 million," said County Administrator Jay Stegmaier.

Waterfront homeowners await word on violations
      Some homeowners in Waterviews at the Reservoir will soon receive letters from the county's Environmental Engineering Department and the Army Corps of Engineers, requiring them to correct unauthorized improvements they made at the rear of their yards along the Swift Creek Reservoir.

Ashley Woods homeowner sues community association for secrecy
      An Ashley Woods homeowner is suing her community association's board for allegedly holding illegal meetings. Catherine Hundley is asking the Chesterfield Circuit Court for a declaratory judgment and injunctive relief against the elected board which she says "held illegal closed meetings…over the protests of the members of the association.
