Festival fun in the Village of Midlothian this weekend

26th Annual Midlothian Village Day Festival, Sat., Oct. 20, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Midlothian Middle School, 13501 Midlothian Tnpk. Cancer workshop, 6:30-8:30 p.m., CJW Medical Center, Johnston Willis campus, 1401 Johnston Willis Dr. This workshop is designed to help women cope with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment. Volunteer cosmetologists will conduct a program on skincare and makeup as well as how to use wigs, turbans and scarves. Special Olympics Virginia 2007 Golf Championship, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., First Tee of Chesterfield Golf Course, Harry G. Daniel Park at Iron Bridge, 6600 White Pine Rd. Cheer on more than 150 Special Olympics Virginia athletes as they play golf on 9-hole and 18-hole courses. Volunteers are needed to serve as scorekeepers and cart drivers and to help with lunch and the awards ceremony. Training and lunch provided for all volunteers. Hispanic Family Day (el DĂ­a de la Familia Hispana), 1-4 p.m., Celebration Park, 2501 Turner Rd. This event is designed to connect the Latino community to a variety of local service providers, including health and financial institutions, crime prevention and family services. Scheduled entertainment will include salsa band Son Quatro, the Calor Latino Dance Team and McGruff the Crime Dog.
