Teenager starts accidental fire in Pocoshock Hills
A teenage boy has been charged with a burning violation and careless damage of property by fire. Police report that the 13-yearold lit a piece of paper in his bedroom at his home in the 2300 block of Ives Lane at 11:36 p.m. on Nov. 23 and placed it on the window ledge. It fell outside the window and set the ground below it on fire. A small, grassy area was burned. In other crime reports: Aviemore Court. A 2000 Ford Taurus was stolen from a residence in the Highlands in the 8400 block on Nov. 20. Barrister Road. Someone stole a 2007 Toyota Camry at 6:55 a.m. on Nov. 26 from the 6300 block while the engine was left idling to warm it up. Bundle Road. On Nov. 21, someone broke into Spencer's store in the 2100 block by breaking the front window and stole two cash register drawers. Cotfield Road. Someone fired shots into a residence in the 7400 block at 7 p.m. on Nov. 26, but no one was hurt. Den Bark Road. A blue 2001 Suzuki motorcycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 8600 block on Nov. 24. Elmstead Road. A red 2006 Toyota Tacoma was reported stolen from a residence in the 14000 block on Nov. 23. Goalsby Avenue. Someone rummaged through numerous vehicles overnight on Nov. 26-27 in the 3000 block, taking jewelry and other items. Many of the vehicles were left unlocked. Hull Street Road. On Nov. 23, the suspect(s) climbed onto the roof of the Southminister Presbyterian Church in the 7500 block in the afternoon and climbed down into an interior courtyard. They broke out a window to get into the building and stole some consumable goods. • The suspect(s) entered the Kelly White offices in the 7600 block earlier this month by breaking a front window. Once inside, the suspects ransacked each office, taking property. Midlothian Turnpike. The suspect(s) broke out a window in the front door of B Tan in Midlothian Square Shopping Center on Nov. 18-19 and took money from the cash register. Newington Court. The victim was talking on his cell phone while walking in the parking lot of Newberry Townhouses at 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 24 when the suspect approached. Armed with a handgun, the suspect told the victim to stop talking on the phone. When the victim tried to take the gun away from the suspect, he fired several shots, striking the victim in the leg twice. The suspect fled to his vehicle and drove off. Shell Road. The suspect(s) cut the fence that surrounds Taylor's Towing in the 8100 block on Nov. 20 before taking property from inside a storage trailer and cutting catalytic converters from multiple vehicles in the lot. Turner Road. The victim was at the gas pumps of a service station in the 2900 block on Nov. 18 at 11:30 p.m. when the suspect approached with a handgun and demanded money. After receiving it, he ran off. •A catalytic converter was stolen from a Ford F350 van parked in a lot in the 300 block last month. West Huguenot Road. Someone broke out the glass in the front door of Bellegrade Dry Cleaners in the 11400 block on Nov. 27 but was unable to take any money because the business doesn't keep cash in the register overnight. |
