Left to the new board
Decision on impact fees is deferred
      The list of decisions left for the 2008 Chesterfield Board of Supervisors grew last week as the 2007 board deferred a decision on whether to enact impact fees. If adopted, about 9,000 landowners would be required to pay an average of $5,820 per lot to offset the cost of road improvements before they could develop their property.

Cosby Titan Band to perform holiday music
      The Cosby Titan Band will present a holiday concert on Thurs., Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cosby Theater. All seats are $5. The 90-member Titan Band, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble will be featured in this concert. The show should run about one hour, and a reception will follow in the school commons.

Building dedication
     Virginia State University (VSU) dedicated its new $20 million Engineering & Technology Building last week. The three-story structure includes 77,000- square-feet of classroom, laboratory and office space for the mechanical and electronic engineering technology, computer engineering and manufacturing engineering programs.
