ANNOUNCEMENTS The county has hired Madison+Main to provide marketing services for its economic development department. Madison+Main will work with the county and other community partners to develop a comprehensive brand campaign this year that includes a logo for the department and messaging consistent with its brand position as a First Choice Community for business. The firm will also help provide print advertisements, radio spots and billboards targeting residents and business owners around central Virginia. The initial three-month campaign will launch this spring. Madison+Main is a full-service advertising agency and new media firm whose services include brand development, graphic design, Web development, public relations and media planning. The agency's principals have more than 40 years combined experience in working on and with globally recognized brands such as Cingular, the Los Angeles Times, Turner Network Sports, Yoplait, Saturn and Children, Incorporated. Virginia Credit Union recently received a first place award in a statewide competition sponsored by the Virginia Credit Union League and a second place award in a national competition sponsored by the Credit Union National Association. The credit union's Financial Fitness Week featured free personal finance seminars, two free document shredding events and tools and resources to help consumers find ways to shape up their financial fitness. Founded in 1928 and headquartered in Chesterfield County, Virginia Credit Union is a nonprofit financial cooperative owned by its members. Bruce D. French has been appointed as assistant vice president, investment consultant with C&F Investment Services. Since 1998, he was employed by the Richmond office of Morgan Stanley. C&F Investment Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of C&F Bank with locations in Chesterfield County. Wayne Booze, co-owner of DesignLine Remodelers, has become the first remodeler in the Richmond area to achieve the designation of Certified Aging in Place Specialist. The residential remodeling company designs the exterior and interior of existing homes so seniors can remain longer in their homes. The 3,000 Day Club at DuPont's Spruance Plant recently presented Sheltering Arms with $15,136 in a record fundraising effort, and Plant Manager Rick Hodge wrote a check for an additional $10,000 last month. |
