Chemistry Club will show global warming movie The John Tyler Community College Chemistry Club has joined the Climate Challenge in an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the environment and the effects of global warming. To mark the Climate Challenge's Climate Week of Action, the club has partnered with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, a grassroots, nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to fighting global warming in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., to show the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." All showings are free and open to the public. The PG rated documentary will be shown at the Chester campus, located at 13101 Jefferson Davis Highway, in the Nicholas Student Center (room 102A) on Jan. 31 from 1-3 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. It will also be shown at the Midlothian campus, located at 800 Charter Colony Parkway, in rooms A113 and A115, on Feb. 2 from 1-3 p.m. For more information, contact Dr. Kristine Smetana, club advisor, at ksmetana@jtcc.edu or 706-5143. |
