Kroger to anchor new Chippenham Place

      Late next year, Kroger will open an 83,000- square-foot store to anchor what will become Chippenham Place, following the demolition of Cloverleaf Mall. The county board unanimously approved the new mixed-use development last week, which will be built by Crosland LLC of Charlotte, N.C.

County man killed in Iraq
      Staff Sergeant Darryl D. Booker, 37, of Midlothian, was killed on Jan. 20 while serving in Iraq when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was traveling in was shot down near Baghdad. Eleven of Booker's fellow soldiers also perished in the crash.
