Come Home Alive offers driving tips for parents, teens

All 10th grade county students and their parents are invited to attend Come Home Alive, a new program offered through Chesterfield County Public Schools and the Chesterfield Police Department.

The goal of the program is to reduce the number of car crashes and save lives through awareness and education. Covered topics will include an overview of the driver education curriculum, traffic laws governing teen drivers, coaching tips for parents, insurance for teen drivers and safety reminders for teens.

Sessions will be held at 7 p.m. at the following lineup high schools: Feb. 7 at James River; Feb. 8 at Thomas Dale; Feb. 12 at Matoaca; Feb. 21 at Manchester; Feb. 27 at Cosby; Feb. 28 at Meadowbrook; and Mar. 1 at Clover Hill.
