Newspaper should have run Bill Hastings' photo
Dear Editor,

I was disappointed in the Chesterfield Observer's article [Jan. 24] covering the race for [the] Matoaca supervisor seat. By omission, [you are] supporting three candidates when a fourth, Bill Hastings, is filing also. Why was his picture omitted from the article?

In the article you state that Renny Humphrey barely won over Bill Hastings in the 2003 election, [making] Bill a strong contender in the current race. By excluding Bill's picture, you are showing preference for the other Democratic contender, Don Wilms.

I know both Don and Bill well. Both have strengths to bring to their candidacies, but they need to be given equal time and coverage in the press so the voters can decide. You have done a disservice to voters in the Matoaca District with your biased coverage and make a mockery of your publication's title "Chesterfield Observer."
