Where the candidate lives doesn't matter
Dear Editor,

Manoli Loupassi is clearly the best candidate to serve all of the citizens of the 68th District. His experience in public service, including his most recent service as the president of Richmond City Council, is why virtually every member of the General Assembly currently serving Chesterfield and most others elected to public office in Chesterfield County support his candidacy.

Manoli's primary interest is seeing that those who place their trust in him are properly served. I have personally seen this dedication for his constituency up close and personal for several years.

Mr. Loupassi's residential address is being portrayed as a significant issue in this race because his opponent has no record and has cast no votes on issues of consequence on which he can run. It is merely smoke and mirrors - a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

If one's residential address is as significant as some wish to make it, then some of the best and most effective legislators who represent Chesterfield County in the General Assembly would fail this test. Included in such a group would be Kirk Cox (Colonial Heights), Lee Ware (Powhatan), John Watkins (Powhatan) and Riley Ingram (Hopewell). Kirk Cox is recognized as a leader in the House of Delegates, and John Watkins serves on the Senate Finance Committee, one of the most significant money committees in the General Assembly.

The citizens of the 68th District would have to search long and hard to find a person of better character or possessing a greater servant's heart than Manoli Loupassi.
