Miller Center Forum events set for March at Lucy Corr

Springdale at Lucy Corr Village will host two Miller Center Forum events later this month.

The Miller Center Forum provides continuing education for the University of Virginia and regional community through live Web casts and C- SPAN broadcasts for the American public. Each month, the forum brings together leading experts and thoughtful audiences for lively discussions of critical public policy topics.

As a host site for the forum, live Web casts will be presented in the library at Lucy Corr Village. Seating is limited and can be reserved by calling Springdale at 426-8280. The following speakers are scheduled:

Mar. 16, 11 a.m. - Mark Bowden is the author of "Guests of the Ayatollah: The First Battle in America's War" and is a national correspondent for the Atlantic Monthly. His 1999 book, "Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War," spent more than a year on the New York Times bestseller list and was made into a movie.

Mar. 22, 10 a.m. - Dwight Young and John Sayle Watterson will present, "Presidents at Work and at Play." Young is a staff member of the National Trust and is the author of "Dear Mr. President." Watterson is an adjunct assistant professor of history at James Madison University and writes frequently about the history of American sports.
