Police arrest cookie thief

A 22-year-old Midlothian woman was arrested in Richmond after she stole a cookie while robbing a Subway on Mar. 9.

According to police, Jessica Roman is charged with robbery after she demanded money from the Subway's cash register and then stole a cookie when she didn't receive the cash.

Roman allegedly took a cab to the sub shop, paid for a sandwich and went back to her cab. She then told her driver she'd forgotten to buy a cookie and returned to the restaurant where she told the clerk she had a weapon and demanded money. When the clerk refused to cooperate, police say Roman grabbed a cookie and ran back to her cab.

Roman had more than $15 on her when arrested. Subway sells three cookies for a dollar.
