Police seek 7-11 robber
 

Chesterfield police are searching for a black male who robbed the 7-11 convenience store at 320 North Arch Rd. shortly after 4 a.m. on Mar. 21.

The suspect entered the store displaying a handgun and ordered the cashier to open the register. When she gave him the money, the suspect also looked under the cash drawer and had the victim give him the money from a second register. After threatening to kill her, he told her to open the safe, but she said she couldn't. He left the store running.

The suspect is 5'4" tall and wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, red hat and leather gloves.

In other police reports:

Chippendale Drive. The victim was sitting outside his apartment in the 4000 block at 9 p.m. on Mar. 13 when the two suspects, armed with a rifle, approached him and demanded money. The victim had no money on his person or inside the apartment, so the suspects took his cell phone and left on foot.

Galloway Trace. Numerous unlocked vehicles in the Salisbury subdivision were entered on Mar. 12-13, and money and other items were stolen.

Jefferson Davis Highway. Chesterfield police responded to a burglar alarm about 10 p.m. on Mar. 13 in the 12600 block to find a burglary in progress. Police recovered two computers and some of the missing money in the suspect's vehicle parked near Tailored Data Solutions. Lee Gerheart, 27, of the 3000 block of Dupont Ave. in Richmond, has been charged with grand larceny and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.

Jessup Road. The victim found a 30-foot ladder up against an unoccupied house in the 6500 block on Mar. 14. Nothing was missing inside, but a compressor was taken from an unsecured shed.

Mansfield Crossing Court. A community pavilion in the 11300 block was found burned on Mar. 14.

Midlothian Turnpike. On Mar. 14, someone broke into a disabled 1996 Dodge left in the 15400 block and stole the stereo.

+ Someone stole a 1996 Honda parked in the 8200 block during the early morning hours of Mar. 18, but the vehicle was later recovered in Richmond near Broad Rock and Walmsley boulevards.

+ The suspect pulled into the service station in the 9200 block at 3:30 p.m. on Mar. 20 and told the victim he would pay her for directions to Stony Point Fashion Park. She went inside to get directions, and when she returned, the suspect exposed himself and then drove off.

Sand Hill Drive. Someone took two handguns from the glove compartment of a Ford Explorer parked in the 2600 block from Mar. 14-16.
