Get a taste of India The Cultural Center of India (CCI) will hold its Fourth Annual Taste of India event on Sat., June 23 and Sun., June 24, from noon-9 p.m. The festival provides the community with a glimpse of Indian culture including cuisine, handicrafts, art, music and various cultural dances. Visitors will be able to taste the subtle flavor of authentic Indian cooking from chicken and lamb curries to several varieties of bread such as the South Indian pancake, the "Dosa," and the "Samosa" from North India. Beverages will include "Lassi," which is soothing to the stomach, the traditional Indian "Chai" (tea) Indian beer. For those with sweet tooth, the festival will feature fragrant "rasgollas" and many other Indian desserts as well as Indian ice cream. In addition to food, attendees can shop for fine jewelry, high-end watches, saris, Bollywood designer clothing, music CDs, books and many more items. Throughout the event, there will be cultural programs such as folk dances and presentations from various regions of India. The festival will be held at the center, located 6641 Ironbridge Pkwy.
