Car crash kills 12-year-old

The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred in the 21200 block of Hull Street Road at about 10:07 p.m. on May 4.

Police said a 1995 Pontiac Firebird was heading east on Hull Street Road when it veered off the roadway, struck two trees and overturned. The driver, Peter J. Piacentini, 19, of the 7000 block of Cogbill Road, was transported to VCU Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A passenger in the Pontiac, Isabella Piacentini, 12, of the same address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue their investigation into this crash.

Flasher charges dropped

Charges have been dropped against a man previously accused of exposing himself in public.

Robert Robins, 44, was arrested twice last year for exposing himself near Commonwealth Centre Parkway. However, a GPS tracking device shows Robins was not the flasher.

Car crashes into bank

A driver smashed his car into the First Federal Savings Bank in the 1100 block of Courthouse Road on May 10 before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the bank was closed when the white Honda Civic crashed into the building. Officers believe the driver lost control of the vehicle after turning onto an access road too quickly. Another car was almost hit head on, forcing the driver to overcorrect and hit the bank.

Police believe the incident was accidental, but the driver is wanted because he fled the scene.
