Local bloodmobiles seek donors to increase supply

Summer Kick-Off Blood Drives, Fri., June 1, 8:30-11 a.m., Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Bldg., 7000 Lucy Corr Blvd., and 1-3:30 p.m., Eanes-Pittman Bldg., 6610 Public Safety Way. Both blood drives will be held on bloodmobiles, and are open to the public. All participants will receive a special giveaway and be entered to win "Two for One Cruise." Relay for Life, opening ceremony at 10 a.m., through 8 a.m. Sun., June 3, L.C. Bird High School, 10301 Courthouse Rd. Teams will take turns walking laps, keeping at least one team member on the track at all times, to raise money for the American Cancer Society. There will be local bands, games, clowns, food, moonwalk, face painting and the Ms. Relay Contest. A Children's Walk (for ages 12 and under) will take place at 7 p.m. and a Luminaria Ceremony will be held after dark.
