"I've spent the last several months meeting with parents, teachers, students, community and business leaders to hear their ideas about how to improve our great schools in Chesterfield County," Finkbeiner said. "We're going to run a full scale, community and grassroots based campaign," Finkbeiner continued. "I'm going to be sharing my ideas on how to improve the safety of our schools, making sure we address parent and student needs when it comes to transportation, food service, and preparation for our globally competitive economy. I will also continue to hold forums and meet with folks to hear their ideas and concerns about our schools." On June 20, Finkbeiner will hold a campaign kick-off in his home neighborhood, The Grove, from 6- 8 p.m. Midlothian Supervisor Don Sowder, Sen. John Watkins and Del. Sam Nixon will be among the elected officials in attendance at the kick-off. "I'm excited about the opportunity to work with Mr. Sowder and the rest of the Board of Supervisors to ensure that we continue to have one of the best school systems in the nation," Finkbeiner said. "I am committed to making sure the School Board is involved from the very beginning with community development meetings so that when we have new families in Chesterfield, we know we are planning our school expansion and construction to meet their needs."
