Mall manager leaves The senior manager at Chesterfield Towne Center worked his last day on Friday for developer Macerich and has joined Premier Properties USA - a smaller company with a larger role for him. "It's a tough decision for me to leave Macerich [after seven years] because Macerich is a great company," said Bill Siebenaler. "There's plenty happening here, but if I didn't take this opportunity now, I don't know if I could take it in the future." Premier is headquartered in Indianapolis, and Siebenaler will have a "generalized management role" there and with new centers in Las Vegas and Williamsburg. Marquis, an open air center of one million square feet, opens this fall in Williamsburg at the intersection of I-64 and Route 199. Chris Walter is serving as the interim manager at the Chesterfield mall. Earlier this spring, the mall announced Barnes & Noble will open a store where the mall's movie theatres are currently located. The location will have one level of retail space with an exterior entrance. Charlotte Russe, a junior women's fashion store, is taking over the space vacated by Barry's Better Menswear and Femenia. Siebenaler said other store additions are planned for later this year. "Macerich has made a serious commitment to Chesterfield Towne Center, and there will be some exciting announcements coming soon," he said. A brokerage firm that owns less than one acre at the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and Mall Drive is also adding some small retail stores. |
