Country music will fill the air at Pocahontas State Park

Pocahontas Premieres concert, Sat., June 23, 6 p.m., Heritage Amphitheater, Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Rd. Country rock bands Last Train Home and Cedar Creek will perform. Advance tickets are $7 and $10 the day of the show. Kids 12 and under are free. Parking is $4 (advance ticket holders get free parking on day of show). Food and beverages will be available. Cancer workshop, 6:30-8:30 p.m., CJW Medical Center, Johnston Willis campus, 1401 Johnston Willis Dr. This workshop is designed to help women cope with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment. Volunteer cosmetologists will conduct a program on skincare and makeup as well as how to use wigs, turbans and scarves. Brad McNeer Memorial Junior Golf Tournament, 9 a.m., Windy Hill Sports Complex, 16500 Midlothian Tpke. Cost is $20 and includes warm-up bucket of balls, greens fees and prizes. $10 of entry fee will go to the Chesterfield County Fire Department's Brad McNeer Memorial Scholarship Fund. MOMS Club of Chester Open House, 10:30 a.m.-noon, Central Library, 9501 Lori Rd. Free activities for babies to preschoolers with moon bounces, face-painting and over $250 in door prizes. There will also be a free Baby Signs© demo. The MOMS Club is a social/support group for mothers with daytime activities for moms and kids. Annual Neighborhood Bash, noon-3 p.m., Ettrick Park, 20400 Laurel Rd. residents are invited to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer. There will be a disc jockey, carnival games, crafts, a moon walk, a karate demonstration and giveaway items. Zebo the Clown will make balloon creations. Seventh Annual Family Fairway Frenzy, 9 a.m., The First Tee Chesterfield, Harry G. Daniel Park at Iron Bridge, 6600 White Pine Rd. For children and adults of all ages to enjoy the game of golf. Concert, 7 p.m., Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Rd. Singer-songwriter Steve Bassett, best known for his song, "Sweet Virginia Breeze," will perform traditional music played on Civil War-era musical instruments. Michelle Nixon & Drive will also perform. In addition to the evening concert, there will be an afternoon display and workshop featuring historic instruments of collector Chuck Kincaid, including a bugle, fife, guitar, mandolin, zither, violin and squeeze boxes. The workshop is from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $4, and children 12 and younger are free. (The Pocahontas Premieres season pass does not apply to the Steve Bassett show.)
