County police arrest Petersburg man after hold-up
Chesterfield police arrested a 22-year-old Petersburg man shortly after he allegedly held up a victim in the 11300 block of Hull Street Road around 1 a.m. on June 12. The victim was cleaning a parking lot when the suspects approached, grabbing the victim and putting a handgun to his face. The suspects then drove off with the money.
While patrolling the area, Chesterfield police observed the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and stopped the suspects. An investigation led to the arrest of Charles R. Bowers of the 800 block of McKenzie Street in Petersburg. He is charged with robbery, use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony, vehicle registration violations, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Brandermill Country Club. Golf course personnel were immediately alerted when a male juvenile drove off in a golf cart on June 10 at 2:15 p.m. He crashed the cart into a tree, but the cart wasn't damaged. Chesterfield police arrested him for grand larceny.
Collington Drive. During the early morning hours of June 6, someone rummaged through two unlocked vehicles in the driveway of a residence in the 10800 block, taking money from both. The suspect(s) then entered the garage through an unlocked door, and found a coat inside with a spare set of keys to a third vehicle. They stole the 2005 Ford.
Fox Branch Court. The suspect(s) cut the screen to the back porch in the 6200 block and stole beer from a kegerator and a mini refrigerator.
Hull Street Road. A 1995 John Deer Gator was stolen from the 8300 block when the keys were left in the ignition on June 7.
Macbeth Court. During daylight hours on June 11, the suspect(s) removed a window air conditioner from a residence in the 6300 block and climbed inside. They stole money, jewelry and other items.
Marbleridge Road. The suspect(s) entered two unlocked vehicles parked in the 100 block on June 11-12 belonging to R & D Construction and Excavating and stole money. In the second vehicle, the suspects located a spare key to a 2006 white Hyundai, which they used to steal the vehicle.
North Stevens Hollow. A locked 2006 gray Chevrolet was stolen from a driveway in the 6500 block and recovered in Norfolk.
Stella Court. The victim was playing basketball in the 4000 block on June 6 with other players outdoors when the suspects showed up at 7:40 p.m., firing shots into the air. No one was injured. Two days later, another victim reported that the license plates were stolen from a Ford Tempo, the passenger mirror was pulled off the vehicle, and the windshield was smashed.
Water Race Drive. Freon was reportedly drained from heat pumps of a residence in the 14700 block in the Watermill neighborhood.
Wathall Center. During the first few days of June, inspection stickers were stolen from eight vehicles at Priority Toyota.
