Seven people arrested for neighborhood solicitation
Solicitation without a permit is a misdemeanor. In other police reports: Bailey Bridge Road. Numerous windows at Manchester High School and Alberta Smith Elementary School were shot out by a BB gun. Caldwell Avenue. A plastic bottle with explosives was found in the victim's mailbox in the 5000 block at noon on July 5. The device did not detonate. Global Court. The suspect cut the screen to the rear porch of a residence in the 3700 block at 1:45 p.m. on July 9 before unlocking the door and entering the residence. When he was confronted by the homeowners, he left. Harbour Pointe Parkway. Six suspects were arrested by Chesterfield police after being found inside the vacant Brandermill Inn and Conference Center. The only adult was Caleb D. Yancy, 20, of the 600 block of Quail Crossing in Colonial Heights, who is charged with trespassing, carrying a concealed weapon, and unlawful purchase or possession of alcohol. The other five are minors. Key Deer Drive. The victim met the suspect at 3 p.m. on July 2 to sell him some of his medication in the 14200 block. At first, the suspect said he didn't have any money and then threatened to beat up the victim. The victim gave him the medication but was kicked anyway. The suspect left with four friends. Kingsland Road. The victim reports that a 1967 burgundy Ford, which was inoperable, was stolen from the 5500 block sometime in October 2004. Midlothian Turnpike. A silver 2007 Kia is missing from the Enterprise Rental Car lot in the 8000 block. The car renter reportedly left the keys in the unlocked vehicle. Phobus Court. A suspicious fire was reported in the rear yard of a King Forest residence in the 6300 block on July 7 at 11:20 a.m. Ransom Hills Place. Five unlocked vehicles were entered in the Proctor's Point neighborhood on July 10, and numerous items were stolen including money, clothing and electronics. Water's Edge Road. The homeowners of a residence in the 6100 block reported that a small screening fence around their air conditioner was set on fire on July 9. Willis Road. Gabriel F. Castro, 31, of the 1200 block of Third Street in Raleigh, N.C., was arrested July 8 in connection with the stabbing of two men at the Econo Lodge, 2125 Willis Rd., at about 1 a.m. Castro is accused of stabbing the two men following an argument and was arrested without incident. Both victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Castro is charged with malicious wounding and is being held without bond in the Chesterfield County Jail pending a hearing in Chesterfield County General District Court. |
