Chesterfield County Democratic Committee monthly meeting, Tues., Sept. 4, 7 p.m., Central Library, 9501 Lori Rd. Camille Gaff ney, program director of the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross, will present information on the services and activities of the Red Cross in metro Richmond including services for the military, veterans, multicultural services and more. The program will also include the opportunity to "adopt" a soldier and provide information on donating and shipping care packages to deployed soldiers around the world. A Preschooler's First Scavenger Hunt, 10-11 a.m., Rockwood Nature Center, Rockwood Park, 3401 Courthouse Rd. Children ages 3-4 will take a nature hike and make a collage with what they find. Miracle League Baseball onsite registration, 10 a.m.-noon, 10301 Courthouse Rd. The Miracle League serves young people ages 3-21 who suffer from physical or mental disabilities. Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, synthetic turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while also helping to prevent injuries.
