CRIME WATCH Donald J. Thorton, 72, of the 500 block of Coalfield Road in Midlothian, has been arrested for object sexual penetration and aggravated sexual battery. The offenses allegedly occurred on Jan. 1, 1997. County police declined to provide additional information, saying it was a family matter and involved juveniles. In other crime reports: Ashburn Road. Jewelry was reported missing from a residence in the 10900 block on Sept. 21. Entry was gained through a rear unlocked door. Brentwood Circle. The victim entered the kitchen of the residence in the 3000 block at 9:15 p.m. on Sept. 19 and saw the suspect standing near the rear door. When the suspect saw the victim, he fled. Goodman Road. The suspect(s) broke a window to gain entrance to a residence in the 13700 block and then did extensive damage to the interior. Jefferson Davis Highway. One Stop Auto Sales in the 6100 block allowed the suspect to test drive a 1995 Nissan Altima over the weekend, but the suspect hasn't returned the car. • As the victim arrived at his business in the 7400 block at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, the suspects stepped out from near a dumpster and put a gun to the victim's head. They grabbed the bag the victim was carrying and fled to a waiting vehicle. Lamplighter Drive. Catalytic converters were stolen from three different Toyota 4Runners parked in the Squire Hill, Lantern Ridge and Belmont Parkway apartment complexes on Sept.21. On Sept. 24, a catalytic converter was stolen from a 1995 Toyota 4Runner at nearby Meadowbrook Apartments. Midlothian Turnpike. The suspect and others drove to a parking lot in the 7800 block at 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 20 and fired several shots at the victims following a prior argument. One victim was hit in the foot. River Terrace Road. An unknown suspect broke the driver side window of a vehicle parked in the 20800 block at the River Road Terrace Apartments on Sept. 19 and stole some items from inside. He unsuccessfully tried to punch the steering column to steal the vehicle. Sandyford Road. A 1998 Lincoln Town Car and its keys were reported stolen from the 16100 block on Sept. 21. The vehicle was later recovered at a different location after it had been damaged in an accident. Vauxhall Road. The suspect(s) broke a window to a 2002 Lexus in the 4400 block on Sept. 21, and the victim reported that money and other items were stolen from the vehicle. |
