Fashion show honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Spring Arbor of Salisbury, an assisted living community in Midlothian, will host a unique fall fashion show on Oct. 24. Spring Arbor, in conjunction with Talbots and the Buford Road Pharmacy, will present the latest in women's styles in a setting reminiscent of Richmond's classic Miller & Rhoads Tea Room while recognizing and honoring breast cancer survivors. Featuring models who are residents of both Spring Arbor assisted living communities in greater Richmond, as well as breast cancer survivors from the Richmond area, the "Talbots Must Haves For Fall" show will begin at 3 p.m. and will be followed by a cocktail party. The fashion show will feature a special display of ladies' hats from the era of Miller & Rhoads' heyday as a large traditional downtown department store. Hats and white gloves were de rigueur at the Miller & Rhoads Tea Room - a Richmond tradition for decades during the last century which featured lunchtime fashion shows to the strains of organ and piano music. Spring Arbor of Salisbury is located at 14001 Turnberry Ln., just off Winterfield Road in Midlothian. The public is invited to attend, but RSVPs are required. Those interested can call 897-2727 for further information or to reserve seats. |
