NEWS BRIEFS A county man has been charged with not controlling his dog after it attacked and killed a neighbor's cat. According to police, Barington R. Spencer's pit bull broke free from his collar/lease on Sept. 28 in the 14300 block of Shale Place and injured a cat that was sitting on a neighbor's porch. The cat's owner intervened in the attack. The cat was taken to the vet where it later had to be euthanized because of its injuries. An animal control officer charged Spencer with failing to control a dangerous or vicious dog on Oct. 19. Spencer will appear in Chesterfield General District Court on the charge, and he could later be ordered to register his dog with the state as a dangerous dog. Police seek robbery suspect Police are searching for a man who robbed the Ettrick Deli at 3608 East River Rd. at 8 p.m. on Oct. 22. Police said the masked man entered the deli, displayed a gun and demanded money. The suspect then exited the deli, approached another employee outside an exterior office and demanded more money. In the midst of that confrontation, the owner exited the office, and the suspect attempted to force his way in. The suspect fled in a white or silver 1990s Cadillac without obtaining additional money. No one was injured during this incident. The suspect is a black male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He has a dark complexion, an athletic build and brown eyes. He wore a blue ski mask, blue shirt and jeans. Anyone with information should call police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748-0660. Four robbery suspects arrested Two juveniles and two adults were arrested last week as suspects in the Oct. 21 robbery of a home in the 3300 block of Tanners Way. Police continue their search for a fifth male suspect. Police said three females knocked on the victims' front door and were invited in shortly before 11 p.m. Once inside the apartment, the females engaged the male victims in a discussion about sex in exchange for money. When the victims became suspicious and asked the suspects to leave, two additional male suspects forced their way into the home at gunpoint and demanded money. The suspects fled without obtaining money. Those arrested include Lynette A. Streater, 19, of the 6000 block of Partingdale Circle, Giselle M. Torres, 19, of the 3300 block of Tanners Way, a 17-year-old girl and a 17-yearold boy. They are charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Streater and Torres are being held without bond in the county jail pending upcoming hearings in Chesterfield County General District Court. The juveniles are being held without bond in the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center pending hearings in Chesterfield County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Police are still searching for a black male suspect. Anyone with information should call police at 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 748- 0660. Police arrest car wash robbers Three people have been arrested, and police are seeking a fourth suspect in connection with the Oct. 10 robbery and injury of an employee at $3 Car Wash, 11100 Hull Street Rd. Those arrested include Michael D. Carter, 20, of the 11900 block of Campbell Ridge Court in Midlothian, Dante L. Lewis, 19, of the 1500 block of Silver Avenue in Richmond, and a 17-year-old male. Lewis and Carter are each charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, malicious wounding and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The 17-year-old is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, abduction, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police are still searching for Gregory Javone White, 17, of the 3100 block of Garland Avenue in Richmond. Carter is being held without bond in Riverside Regional Jail pending a hearing in Chesterfield County General District Court. Lewis is being held without bond in the county jail pending a hearing. The juvenile is being held without bond in the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center pending a hearing in Chesterfield County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
