CRIME WATCH Chesterfield police arrested a Hampton Park couple on Oct. 29 after officers discovered a small number of marijuana plants in their Hampton Green Drive residence. Brian L. Wray and Lisa M. Wray, both 37, were charged with marijuana possession and their residence was deemed a nuisance because of the plants. Both charges are misdemeanors. In other crime reports: Beaver Point Drive. Someone set fire to a mailbox in the 12400 block on the evening of Oct. 30. Courthouse Acres. Multiple vehicles in the 11400 block - most of them unlocked - were entered during the early morning hours of Oct. 29, and miscellaneous things were taken, including money. Eastman Road. The victim was walking home from a restaurant in the 400 block on Oct. 24 at 10:30 p.m. when he was confronted by two suspects. One demanded money, and when the victim refused, the other suspect struck him in the head. The suspects hit him several more times before taking his wallet and leaving. Greenspring Road. The victim was unlocking her vehicle in the parking lot of Intown Suites at 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 24 when the suspect ran up and hit her with his fist. As she fell to the ground, he grabbed her purse and ran. Hull Street Road. Someone entered an office trailer outside the YMCA in the 7500 block on Oct. 20-23 and stole clothing and money. There was no forced entry. • Someone tapped the victim on her shoulder at 10:42 p.m. on Oct. 23 as she was loading groceries into her vehicle parked at Genito Crossing Shopping Center. As she turned around, the suspect grabbed her purse. She resisted, and he struck her in the back of the head with an unknown object. He then fled to his vehicle with her purse and drove off. Jefferson Davis Highway. The female suspect approached the victims' truck as it pulled into a parking lot in the 9300 block at 11:17 p.m. on Oct. 26. A male suspect got into the vehicle armed with a knife and bat and told the victims to drive to a vacant lot, followed by other suspects in their vehicle. They robbed the victims of money and other items and stabbed the victims' tires with the knife before leaving. Meadowdale Boulevard. The victim exited the Food Lion store in the Meadowdale Shopping Center and was sitting in his 1989 Toyota at 7:18 p.m. on Oct. 28 when the suspect approached. The suspect pulled the victim out of his vehicle, got inside and drove off. The car was later found close to where it had been taken. Merriwood Road. Various items were stolen from five unlocked vehicles parked in the 2500 block on Oct 23-24. Polo Parkway. A masked and armed suspect entered the Burger King restaurant at 9:10 p.m. on Oct. 28 and demanded money from the safe. He then ran off with the money. Ruthers Road. A catalytic converter was stolen from a Jeep Cherokee in the 200 block and reported on Oct. 18. Van Hoy Drive. The victim reported that a shot was fired into the rear bedroom of an apartment in the 7600 block of the Cross Creek Apartments on Oct. 27. The victim heard a "popping noise," but did not discover what the noise was until the next day. No one was injured. |
