Bazaars and more offer unique shopping opportunities
It's that time of the year again - time to start thinking about what to give those on your holiday gift-giving list. The following holiday bazaars and other events in the county offer an alternative to malls and big box stores:
Sat., Nov. 17
Seventh Annual Holiday Craft & Gift Fair, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr. Arts, crafts, holiday items, baked goods, concessions.
2007 Fall Bazaar, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Thomas Dale High School, 3626 W. Hundred Rd., Chester. Holiday gifts, decorations, cooking and home products, cosmetics, jewelry and more.
Holiday Shopping Bazaar, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., O.B. Gates Elementary School, 10001 Courthouse Rd. Start your holiday shopping. Sponsored by the PTA. For more information, contact heather.egan@longandfoster.com or call 241-6290.
Tues., Nov. 20
Candlelight Christmas Shopping, 6-8 p.m., Magnolia Grange, 10020 Iron Bridge Rd. Books, porcelain and china, stationery, brassware, jewelry, county-themed items, old-fashioned kids' toys and more will be available in the gift shop. Light refreshments will be served.

Wed., Nov. 28
Holiday auction, 10 a.m.- noon. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.), Foxcroft Club House, 15100 Fox Club Pkwy. The auction will feature holiday and gift items. Open to the public. Refreshments are provided. Sat., Dec. 1
Christmas Bazaar, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2341 Winterfield Rd., Midlothian. Featuring crafts, ornaments, jewelry, oil paintings, objets d'art, gourmet food, Native American crafts, kitchen items, bake sale and much more. Includes raffle of vendors' items. Lunch and snacks available. Proceeds will support the outreach projects of the Episcopal Church Women. For more information, call 379-8899.
Jingle Bell Bazaar, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Ecoff Elementary School, 5200 Ecoff Ave., Chester. Holiday gifts, baked goods, concessions by the Boy Scouts. Admission is $1.
